Memorial Day Weekend is a great time to cook out, sleep late, hang out friends, and just have a good time, but its intended purpose is so much more meaningful--to show appreciation, respect, and to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces that make it possible for us to enjoy a cook out instead of going to work.
Sporting events held throughout the weekend will be doing things to honor the Armed Forces, but none will be as touching and meaningful as the reunions between soldiers and their families--like this one between a lieutenant and his parents at the Dodgers game Sunday.
Many thanks to people like Brandon Neel and his family. Have a great Memorial Weekend sports fans. Don't forget what it's really about.
