FMW-Baseball Needs to Take a Step Back

Many thanks to those that have come by FMW-Baseball so far. Baseball is a great game with a lot of tradition and more than enough stuff to blog about. That being said, in order to proceed on the right path and one I think you guys will dig I need to put the site on pause.

Once I get my plan of attack formulated and ready to go I'll be back with some of the best that baseball has to offer!

And yes--there will be babes!!!

The Real Durham Bulls Can Make Plays Too

For those that do not follow minor league baseball too much  the Durham Bulls are the team that Crash Davis and Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' Laloosh used to play for. While those guys did make some great plays (and a great movie the real Durham Bulls aren't half bad either.

Transformers 'Guard' Youngster As He Throws Out First Pitch

If you are going to throw out the first pitch at a Marlins game what better way is there to do it then with a pair of Transformers at your side like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

I can't help but think that the few Marlins fans in attendance where probably wondering if they could get away with sticking a jersey on either Optimus or Bumblebee and sticking them in the lineup. They might be able to add a little power...

Going...Going...Gone! Chicago's Dioner Navarro Blasts a Trio of Home Runs

There are some people that are consistent when they play and others who are not. For one reason or another they are streaky, and that's okay. The trick is just figuring out how to break out of the cold streak more often then not. With one hit in his last ten at-bats prior to Wednesday's game it would be a little early to say Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro was on a cold streak, but he was getting close. However, after blasting three home runs into the stands it's safe to say he is anything but cold!

Going...Going...Gone! Brian McCann Cranks One Out to Help Braves Win in Extra Innings

When it comes time to draft a catcher in fantasy baseball Brian McCann is one of the first off the block year in and year out. There is just something to be said for a guy that rarely misses a game and can knock 'em out of the park like he did Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays to give the Braves the win.

Kiss Cam Gone Wrong at Dodgers Game!

After the kiss cam incident where this guy appears to get in a fight with his girlfriend after refusing to give her some sugar you'd think it couldn't get any better, right? Oh, how wrong!

At the Dodgers game on Memorial Day this couple was caught on camera. Rather than kiss his companion the male decided to head for the hills as a cascade of boos followed. Little did they know he was just having some fun with his 15 seconds of fame.

Kansas City Royals Dugout Taken Over By Bees

The Kansas City Royals are almost infamous for their lack of success on the baseball diamond. So far this season is no different with the team dropping 15 of their last 19 games.

On Sunday they had the Los Angeles Angels in town, but they also had another opponent to deal with--bees.

Cleveland Indians Manager Terry Francona Wants to Honor America...But Wants His Player to be Called Safe As Well!

This is too funny.

During the Indians game Sunday Indians outfielder Michael Bourn was called out trying to steal second. Indians manager Terry Francona, doing what every manager should do, runs out to argue the call. Now this happened to also be the final out of the inning and led into the 7th inning stretch--this is where it gets funny.

It's clear that all three think about what they should do when 'God Bless America' is played and take their caps off, but instinct takes over and all three fall right back into their argument over whether Bourn was safe.

You have to love it when love of the game will not be deterred by anything!

Awesome Family Reunion for Parents of Soldier at Dodgers Game

Memorial Day Weekend is a great time to cook out, sleep late, hang out friends, and just have a good time, but its intended purpose is so much more meaningful--to show appreciation, respect, and to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces that make it possible for us to enjoy a cook out instead of going to work.

Sporting events held throughout the weekend will be doing things to honor the Armed Forces, but none will be as touching and meaningful as the reunions between soldiers and their families--like this one between a lieutenant and his parents at the Dodgers game Sunday.

Many thanks to people like Brandon Neel and his family. Have a great Memorial Weekend sports fans. Don't forget what it's really about.

Angel Pagan Hits Inside the Park Home Run

Angel Pagan is a bad a**.

There is no better way to describe the San Francisco Giants hitter than to call him that after he did his best Usain Bolt impersonation speeding around the bags for an inside the park home run.

Oh, and to make it a little sweeter--it was a walk-off homer that gave the Giants the win over the Colorado Rockies, 6-5, in extra innings.

Umpires Allow Texas Rangers to Pull Off Worst Double Play Ever

The Texas Rangers are playing well this season in spite of losing so many players (especially pitchers) to injuries and with the loss of slugger (or former slugger with the way he's playing) Josh Hamilton.

They are playing so well that even when they screw a play up like they did in Friday's game against Seattle that they still get credit for it!

Toronto Blue Jays Like to Bat at the Driving Range

Sometimes you have to get creative to get the practice you need to be competitive in the Major Leagues. The Toronto Blue Jays certainly have managed to do just that by taking batting practice at the driving range.

Theoretically it makes sense. People go to the driving range to smack balls around after all, right? Why not bigger ones with bats rather than small ones with clubs?

Welcome to FMW-Baseball!!!

Coming Soon!!!
